Now to make a baby shower not wasteful

I'm not one to be boring. Ok my house is boring but that doesn't count. So when I throw a baby shower (only 2 so far...) I wanted them to be bright, bold and yes even "earth-friendly" ie not wasteful. Who needs throw away table cloths when you can have cute cloth ones and then reuse the fabric? I also decided to invest in some "partyware" from IKEA (you know the cute colorful kids plates and bowls that are uber cheap). This made it so I could reuse them over and over again. So far they have been used at 3 parties and still going strong.

Here's the first shower in 2009.

Here's the next shower in 2011

I loved that both had minimal waste. They only thing we threw out in the end was the paper napkins (I'm not that bold yet) and paper from the gift wrapping. Then the "tablecloths" got reused into blankets and car seat canopies

Coaster love

These are my newest creations. I was inspired by the Pinterest Challenge by Young House Love and my friend Melissa Harden to create some cute coasters. I think they are very much my style. Four are for a friend as a wedding present and the rest will be sold at the Green Your World store at it's new location on 25th street. These are are green and cute! The paper is made from 70% Post consumer waste paper and the tiles themselves are made in the USA.
